Kid Kid nodded, looking sidelong to the claw marks on Shetans wrist, "so I see." She quickly prepared the meal skillfully, it was a full meal sincethey'd not eaten all day and the scowled as the sounds of wolves baying in the distance. She handed a small wooden plate to shetan of spiced potatoes, spiced meat nd a small jug of ale. She settled downto her meal of much the same, "How's your leg?"

Shetan Shetan grimaced slightly, wrinkling his nose at the young woman's avoidance and questions. All the same, he was comforted by the tantalizing scents from her cooking, and the baying. Those would be true wolves out there, he realized with some caution. If the scent of their meal drew them in, he would be ill-equipped to ward them off. He might even have to resort to harming them, which he wasn't much inclined to do. Hunching over his plate slightly, unconsciously, Shetan reached for his belt dagger and speared a piece of the meat to begin eating. He ate quickly and reached for the small jug provided for him before answering Kid. "My leg's much improved, from the feel of it. I'll have to change the coverings on it before we settle down for the night," he replied, musingly, watching the young woman eat. Shifting aside to rest on his own bedroll, Shetan pushed his wooden plate toward the fire and stretched out on his back, lazily. Folding his hands behind his head, the therian turned his head to let his gaze stray from Kid to the dancing flames of the fire and back again. "That was much better than I've eaten in a while."

Kid Kid smiled, spearing her own meal and eating it, "I usualy carry more than enough tokeep well fed. I've been on the plains without before. I don't care to repeat it." She sighed, "it is beautiful, in it's own way... The wolves baying I mean.." she frowned, "I did have a wolf pup once..." She shakes her head, "Had to give him up when he started to get restless at night." she leans back on her bedroll as well, noting the way Shetan'd rolled her out with a hint of amusement, "I'll stand first watch. And as for the timber's I liekthem. It's just the red's that I dispise..."

Shetan A lazy grin crept onto the man's lips as he watched Kid, nodding in agreement with her sentiments. "The sound tends to soothe me. Very comforting," he agreed vaguely. He perked an eyebrow slightly as she moved to lean back on her own bedroll, resting nearly overlapped his, and announced that she would take the first watch. "Sure?" Even so, he shifted to sit up, beginning to roll up the leg of his trews carefully. More than once, he'd been grateful that he adapted his trews to be larger of leg than usual. It made tending to injuries much easier, not to mention making it less likely that they would be damaged by a hasty change. Gingerly, he removed the dressings on his wounded leg and dragged his pack closer to him. Removing the water skin there, he cleaned the wound of the remaining poultice. The gash looked to have improved, despite the days efforts. He glanced to Kid, fetching clean rags from his back to rebind the wound. "Wake me when you wish to be relieved?"

Shetan Shetan finished tending to his own injury, carefully drawing the leg of his trews back over the bandaged area. He glanced to Kid as she gathered her pack and spear before moving to slip from the light of their fire. For several moments, the therian peered into the surrounding darkness curiously, wondering what she was up to. Finally, he resigned himself to stretch out on his bedroll again and sprawl slightly onto hers as well as sleep overcame him.

Kid Kid smirked, watching Shetan fall asleep. Rummaging through her bag she pulledo ut some strands of leather and a few baubles as she moved about the outside of the camp. When she finished she smiled lightly, dropping her pack quietly as she lookedto Shetan, he'd moved, and noy lay sprawled across hers and his. She snorted quietly and disrobed and peeled back hers and his before slipping in and nudging Shetan carefully, "move over damnit... theres room forthe both of us you know."

Shetan Shetan had only just descended into the soothing depths of true sleep when he felt something nudge him. He grumbled slightly, stirring without truly waking. Kid's voice called him from sleep more effectively and he cracked open an eye. Upon seeing the young woman, his brow furrowed slightly as his other eye opened, passing over her. "My turn already?" he asked thickly, though he shifted aside slightly.

Shetan Shetan didn't really register much past "no" before he settled back into his bedroll, beginning to roll to his side before his leg reminded him of just how uncomfortable that may be at the time. Snorting in annoyance at the mild reminder, he settled for stretching exaggeratedly and relaxing once more, hands laced behind his head. "Good," he managed, more than willing to follow the girl's directions, as they coincided with his own desire. When the sun began to peer over the eastern horizon, Shetan began to stir from his sleep, admittedly somewhat puzzled. Kid should have woken him when she tired, to take the second watch. Instead, it was dawn already and she was sleeping soundly. Sleeping, half-sprawled over him, as a matter of fact. The therian checked the impulse to issue a low growl of irritation, then noted that while it wasn't foreseen, the arrangement was hardly uncomfortable. Evidently, that realization had struck him at some point during the night as well. His arm was extended and curled about her, forming a sort of pillow for her head. Shetan lifted his head slightly from his pack to look past her. The fire had not been banked before they fell asleep and now only glowing embers remained. Wrinkling his nose, he let his head fall back onto his pack checked the sun's progress again. It wasn't much past dawn. And every bit of his instincts insisted he stay put, although for differing reasons. Unfortunately, he reminded the wolf in him that whined for just a bit more rest and close physical proximity to a companion, I don't think she'll want to roam well into the night to make up for lost time, like you would. And... he thought ruefully, she's just a human. He could almost see himself in hybrid form, sternly admonishing both his bestial and human forms. Chuckling, Shetan stretched slowly, straightening his arm from where it curled about his young companion to brace against the ground as he arced away from it. Relaxing back to the bedroll again, he began to carefully draw his arm from under Kid's head, disentangling himself. "Time to get up, Kid."

Kid Kid groaned, still not usedot waking up so early as she clutched closer ot Shetan as she slwoly woke then bliked slowly, wakefulness taking firm hold as she sat up, "... Mornin'... "She tossed some grass into the fire, then began to slide smaller sticks until she'd managed a small cooking fire before dressing, "I should collect those traps before we head out..." she was quickly waking up and moving aboutthe camp, knowign the lad'd want ot head out as soon as possable.

Shetan Shetan paused a moment as Kid clutched at him with a groan before wakefulness truly reached her. Apparently, once it had it did so with a vengeance. She rose and prodded the fire back into life before she even managed to get dressed. Shetan yawned widely, nodding in response to her words as he reached for his water skin. He caught a drink from it before offering it to her, perking an eyebrow curiously. "Traps?" Already, he was moving closer to the fire to see what was left of last night's meal, if anything. "Wouldn't want to lose them," he offered, prompting more information on them. If she had mentioned them before, he must have been already well on the road to sleep.

Kid Kid smiled slightly, "Mhmn. My mother taught me how to make traps if one really didn't plan on staying awak all ngiht and figured the others needed rest as well. They work wonderfully. Tanglefoot most people call them." She finished drssing and quickly set off to retreive the tripwires before the belling up the strips and put them away, the wires chiming from the bells attached to them. She proddedd the mealfro mthe ngiht before, pleased that the dying coals had keptthem warm andthe bugs away she quickly turned the last of the scraps into a decent meal, handing it over to Shetan, "Figured you;d want to be on our way again."

Shetan The therian's eyebrow rose higher, in pleasant surprise as the young woman explained herself. He nodded appreciatively, before moving to roll up and stow both of their bedrolls. They were tucked away carefully when she returned to gather the remainder of last night's meal. He thanked the young woman before setting into his breakfast with a certain measure of contentment. Certainly the lass aimed to please and, thus far, was well hitting the mark. He offered her a quirk of a smile. "Mm, yes. I'd like to make good time. If we do, tomorrow evening, or the next, we should reach the Nordak. From there, depends on how the crossing looks..."

Kid Kid smirked, finished off her meal and relaxed, waiting on Shetan. She she relaxed she eyed her spear, sparsly adorned as it was she was eager to add new trophies to it, and in part the spurned her to continue as she was. She grasped it and smirked running her fingers over a few of the feathers and beads. Before raising and shouldering her pack, "whenever your ready." she purposfully ignored the dull ache in her leg.
