Shetan Shetan nodded to the young woman, letting his pack slide down his arm to the ground. The tall therian sank to sit beside it to dig out a water skin. Sitting relieved some of the pain in his leg, so he stretched his legs out before him slowly before raising the skin. Opening his mouth, he tilted his head back to squirt some of the skin's contents into his mouth before lowering it. His dark eyes traveled to Kid and he extended the skin to her. "Drink?"

Kid Kid shifted and settled down easily, ignoring the biting painin her leg before leaning against her own pack and dozing slightly to keep fresh for the next walk, she wasn't asleep but was near such as she absently took a small dink from her water skin and offered it to Shetan, "Were nowhere near the hunting land of my tribe.." She looked about, she was suddenly tense and snapped from her reverie. She realized with sudden apprehension that she was indeed homesick. She snorted and squashed that feeling. She was bound and determined not to act like a naive little girl.

Shetan Shetan accepted the skin when Kid passed it back to him, tucking it back into his pack. Turning his hand over in his lap, he looked to the scratches left around his wrist in his brief scuffle, gently probing the edges with a finger. They weren't deep enough to affect him more than annoyance at the injury itself, combined with his leg. At the thought, he lowered his hand to rest over the wound beneath his trews lightly and glanced to Kid. The young woman had shifted from leaning against her pack to look around, tension lacing her posture. Shifting, the therian moved to lean back supporting himself on his elbows, looking to her with a perked eyebrow. "Truly? Is this your first time away from their lands?"

Kid Kid nodded slightly, "I usualy stuck close to the tribe because of the wolves that prowl around the outskirts of the plains.I have no love for them after hearing the myths and legends and watching a pack of them eat my older brother." She shivers he'd bought her time to escape, but at a steep price. She scowled, pushing her childish fears aside before looking to Shetan with a smile, "what of you?"

Shetan Shetan tilted his head slightly as Kid nodded slightly. His perked eyebrow rose slightly higher as she told him of her brother being killed by the wolves that prowled the grasses. Perhaps simple beasts on the plains? I wouldn't think they'd be Aganos's kin... He seems to favor the girl. Unless he has no influence with his own. Shetan frowned slightly at the thought, before noting Kid's smile. He returned it with a half smile, allowing one side of his mouth to quirk. "Do you ask if this is my first time away from my own? Or here?" He turned his face skyward, watching the scant cloud cover drift over the sky before continuing. "I've been away from my kin and hearth for nearly ten years. Sometimes it feels much longer, I admit," he added the last, ruefully.

Kid Kid arched an eyebrow, "Why so long? I don'tunderstand how soemone could willingly be away from their family for such a long time..." She smiled, "I ment here, but now I understand a bit more...Gods.. I must sound naive..." Her face reddened as she looked of into the grassess, watching the sun as it continued it's inoxerable march to the ground.

Shetan The tall therian kept his position, leaning back on his elbows to look to the sky, although his eyes narrowed briefly. For a moment, he wondered whether it would be more convenient to reveal the reason for his prolonged absence or merely put it down to wandering. His half-smile smoothed away slowly as he allowed his eyes to close. "There are several reasons I've not returned. The least of which being that I have been... exploring the mainland. When the ship I came over on docked, I decided it would be best to know more about it." He smirked, glancing to her from the corner of his eye. "Tales told can only offer so much, true?" Shetan returned his gaze to the sky and frowned. They had spent some time merely resting there, talking of the plains instead of crossing them. On the other hand... his leg did appreciate the rest, and he was certain hers must too. The injuries slowed them. Irritation flared within the therian, but was quickly banked. He could not change the situation, or himself, so irritation would not serve him. The young woman's words turned his thoughts from such to herself. Shetan shook his head, chuckling slightly. "Not naive, exactly. Just... green." He shifted to look at her, with another half-smile as he caught a piece of grass in a hand, bending the young stalk. "Like new grass. You've only begun your living, and you will grow stronger, I think." Releasing the grass, he sat up and began to rise. "We should move on. We won't go much farther before setting up camp for the night. New moon tonight, so won't be as much light to see by." Shetan extended a hand to the young woman, to help her up, if she chose to accept it. "Besides, I would hear more of these tales you told me of, if you would share."

Kid Kid smiled, then rosewith Shetan and leanedon her spear carefully as she gathered her pack and moved to follow Shetan, "Of course... Whatever you'd liketo hear about - least I'll be able to do since you offered me the perfect chance to streth my legs and wander a bit.

Shetan Shetan grinned at the girl's words, shouldering his own pack as well. "Bah, doing me a favor," he replied, dismissively. "Wandering can be lonely work, you know." His tone was teasing, despite the truth of the statement. Shetan had been alone far too long. He was glad for the company, certainly gladder than he would ever admit to the young woman. "Tales can wait until the campfire though. I'd like to cover a bit more ground before we stop." Shetan led them further west, following the path that the sun set overhead. He was silent most of the way, his thoughts turning inward. Kid had reason to fear the wolves, if she had seen her brother killed by them. He would have to come up with a way of convincing her that she needn't fear him when he changed. A formidable task, and with no guarantee of success or that it would even be worth the effort. As the sun neared the western horizon, Shetan stopped in his tracks, looking around. While he wasn't entirely ignorant of the plains, having crossed them before, he found them harder to read than his woodlands and mountains. Both were a part of his homeland and he was well suited to them. He would have liked to find another small stream to camp near, but thought it rather improbable. The plains were known for their dry conditions, though not quite as dry as the deserts beyond the mountain range in eastern Odamar. He looked to Kid, perking an eyebrow. "This seem as good as any campsite to you, Kid?" He wasn't above asking her council, in his own fashion.

Kid Kid walked a few steps ahead, her mind lost amidst he plains and the area as she looked about and closed her eyes, letting herself attune to the plains. She smiled and pointed to a small rise and grinned, "The high ground'll be better, the light'll let any know to take care that there are travelers about, and it'll keep the bugs away." She smiled looking to Shetan, "I've got some left overs that I can cook by the fire for the eve." She had caught the teasing tone from earlier and then grinned, "I'm sure you have been, noone to cook for you and such." She winked mischeviously before making her way towards the low rise.

Shetan Shetan perked an eyebrow slightly at her suggestion, then nodded, moving to ascend the small rise. Dropping his pack, he looked to Kid with a smirk at her teasing. "Hmm, did miss cooked food for a while," he began solemnly. "Shivering all night and eating raw meat, all because there was no one to build a fire and cook for me." He shook his head mournfully and then brightened, grinning at her. "Good thing you're here now," he teased and began to remove his bedroll to spread out, whistling cheerfully.

Kid Kid arched an eyebrow, "wise ass." She gently swatted Shetan's shoulder as she moved to setup camp and begin working on their evening meal, laughing to herself.

Shetan Shetan allowed himself a chuckle, smirking as the young woman retorted with a gentle swat. He knelt to smooth out his bedroll over the ground, placing his pack at one end to serve as a pillow. That accomplished, he paused to watch Kid for a moment as she worked to set up a fire to cook over. His smirk grew as he watched her and then began to look for her pack. "Here, give me your pack. I'll spread your bedroll, while you cook. Then you can tell me more about these wolves that prowl your land."

Kid Kid smiled tossing the pack easily to Shetan after pulling out a pouch of spices and some other items as she built up the fires, "Rumor has it that the wolves aren't nativeto this area, rather they've liekly been pushed out of the forests by the others out beyond the plains border. Think they call them timber's and Red wolves." She shrugs, "I try not to keep up with such, I spend my time out hunting with the packs of Lioness' and the swifter cheetah's. I stay far away from wolves and any gossip of them if I canhelp such." The smell of spiced roasting meat began to waft up from the fire and Kid continued along her task before looking to, "WHy, if you don't mind me asking, are you so fascinated with such savage beasts?"

Shetan Shetan caught the young woman's pack and fetched her bedroll from it before setting it aside, near the fire. Listening to her, the therian spread her bedroll beside his own, allowing it to nearly overlap onto his. The smirk he wore faded slowly, naturally, as she elaborated on the wolves that prowled her homeland. It was a long way to be pushed out, if true wolves, which only supported the theory that they were indeed his kind. The scent from Kid's cooking was more than enough to break him from his thoughts, even with the weak sense of smell that he had to endure. He sniffed as she inquired about his interest, licking his lips unconsciously as he settled back on the spread bedrolls. "I had wolves, on my island. Big grays, or timbers as you called them," he replied with a shrug. "Wonderful creatures, to me at least. I have heard of plains wolves, but..." He looked to his clawed wrist in silent reminder and smirked. "I have only had limited experience with them."
