If there is a disagreement about one of the following rules, consult one of the moderators or admins. Also, each board may have additional rules. The following rules are site-wide.
Rules
1. God-modding is strictly forbidden. Do not attempt to control another player's character without their permission. If two or more players wish to participate in a co-post, each player must express their consent in PMs to the Moderator or on the thread in question.
2. Power-playing is forbidden. No character is perfect. The most expert of archers may miss and the clumsiest of fools may achieve a lucky blow. Additionally, do not assume that your character is matching with everyone's sense of beauty. What is attractive to one may be repulsive to another. Along this same vein, killing another character requires their player's consent, or the intervention of the Moderator.
3. Separate IC and OOC. This rule touches on several aspects. First, the player's personal knowledge does not equate to the character's knowledge. Secondly, while in character rivalries are permitted, even encouraged, players should treat each other with civility and maturity. If any player has trouble with another player(s), please contact the Moderator.
4. IC posts should be of moderate quality. Perfect spelling and grammar is, by no means, mandatory. Everyone makes mistakes. This rule is intended to prohibit chat speak and leet from role-playing posts. If one wishes to role-play, they should be courteous enough to their fellow players to offer comprehensible posts.
5. Remain true to the setting. Each thread may be set in a different era. Please use the proper technology, garb and cultures for the time period.
6. Language and content. Profanity is permitted by both characters and players, so long as rule 4 is kept in mind. OOC posts will require civility, at the least. So far as adult content, that is largely up to the players, though innuendo and fade to black scenes are recommended if taking place in privacy. The managerial staff requests that posts of a more mature nature provide warnings. Should players wish to continue scenes of such a nature, they may feel free to utilize the PMs.
7. Characters. All characters need to be approved by the managers before introduced into gameplay. NO EXEPTIONS! Also, Let's try to keep the characters seperate. (i.e. Ricean to Ricean board and so on). It'll be A LOT less confusing this way.
Consequences
Bear in mind that consequences for breaking the rules may vary pending on the severity of the offense.
First Offense: Warning. The Moderator will PM the offending player with a warning and suggestions on how to remedy the situation. If the Moderator's PM gets no response, the Moderator will repeat their warning on the public boards to ensure that it is seen by the offending player.
Second Offense: 1 week account ban. The player will be given the remainder of the current week to either weave their character out of play or allow the Moderator or another trusted player to play their character for the duration of the ban.
Third Offense: 1 month account ban. The player will be given the remainder of the current week, as with the second offense, to weave out or hand over their character. After this grace week, the account of the offending character will be banned for a month.
Fourth Offense: Permanent account ban. The account of the offending player will be permanently banned from the group and the character(s) woven out of the role-play by the Moderator or a designated player(s). The offending player may continue with any other accounts they have, or create a new one.
Extreme Measures: If the offense is bad enough, and all other options have been exhausted, the offending player may be IP banned from the group and their character(s) woven out of play by the Moderator or players.
