The deserts of Odamar can be as harsh, if not more so, than the other regions of the land. The days are long and hot, and the nights cold. The river stretching inward from the eastern coast is named for the city that lies on it, Anam. The people of this region vary, some settling permanently near the river and in scattered oasis, while others roam in nomadic bands.
Anam
Anam is the jewel of the desert and the primary port for the entire region. The majority of the people in Anam are permanent dwellers, living in mud-brick homes, often elaborately painted with designs. The leader of Anam, Sultan Solin, is leader in both physical and spiritual aspects for his people.
Important Figures
Sultan Solin - Human leader of Anam. Solin is a human male, devoted to the sun god, Sol. He inherited the title Sultan from his father, a rank passed down in his family by wealth and might for centuries.
Rajah Lo - Therian (hyena) Alpha for Anam. Rajah Lo is a female hyena therianthrope, and alpha of the Anam Pack. She keeps a close eye on the neighboring packs, sometimes striking out when they get out of line.

Talos sat upon the back of Monoceros looking back across the vast sea of sand dunes and into the horizon along the path he travelled. Somewhere in the distance just beneath the burning yellow sun scorching the land below into a barren wasteland, lay his beloved home the city of Aman.
His twin swords hung by his side in their black leather scabbards, the ornate hand guards glinting in the sun as they swayed from side to side. His only other belongings where packed tightly within the saddle bags strapped behind him securely so as not to be dislodged should he need to pass through deep water or heavy undergrowth.
It had been almost twenty years to the day that Talos had last ventured into the lands of Odamar in search of knowledge and adventure. From his early days, long before he had passed into adulthood, it had long been his habit to pack up his belongings and travel the lands. After six fantastic journeys filled with wild delights, Talos was still amazed how the world could change so quickly in his absence. No matter how long and how far he travelled, he could always find something new in previously explored lands.
With one last gaze across the yellow plains, Talos turned to face the rocky path that would lead him across the mountain ranges and south towards his first stop, the city of Kuran. Clucking his tongue against the roof of his mouth and gently nudging Monoceros's flanks, the large white stead began its assent.
