Alright folks, welcome to Odamar.
Odamar has been a project of mine (with the help of two of my good friends and sibs) for some time. I deem this a warning since this will be Odamar's first big trial, outside of my sibs. If anyone has any questions, comments or concerns on details about the races, deities or world in general, feel free to let me know.
** Currently, I'm still working on the map, so bear with me. Feel free to look over the information and start formulating your characters and schemes. **
Man has long believed itself the only sentient bipedal life on Odamar. They‘re wrong. Alongside humanity, other races have developed, sometimes surviving in their midst. The therianthropes and fae derived from the same ancestory as humans, though with very special adaptation.
As the humans and therianthropes developed, the two grew increasingly varied and specialized to their needs in physiology and culture. The humans, farmers and hunters, relied on the warmth and light of the sun to provide them with their necessities, and developed a sense of sun worship. The therianthropes, both prey and predators, required the protection and camoflauge of the moon, and came to call her Mother. The fae, mischievous and spry, looked to the stars above, and the Shining One, Styra.
During older times and in a younger, more vast world, the three peoples could avoid contact and lived peacefully. Now, as fae, human and therianthrope advance, they must co-exist. Fearful and suspicious, the humans have made it evident that they do not wish to share "their" world with these "creatures of myth and tale".
The therianthropes, for the most part, conceal themselves among humans or live in isolated areas with few major incidents and the fae seem to be able to hide in plain sight with their tricks. But, how long can this last?
