"A lie detecting amulet?" Rhia asks, teasingly. "Why? Should I have cause to be concerned that you lie to me?"
Rhia winks at Michael, the playfulness evident on her face as she finishes up the charms. She lays them carefully off to the side, planning to quicken them just before bringing them to the vamp girl's parents.
She reaches for the rest of the supplies needed to make the wards and brings them with her over to the medium Michael had so gallantly prepared for her. Placing everything on the center island counter, Rhia picks up the magnetic chalk and begins to trace a large circle on the floor.
"In or out?" Rhia asks Michael as she stands and makes her way back inside the chalk-drawn circle.

“Shake it all about.” Michael sang as he grabbed Rhia, spinning her around in his arms and nibbling at her neck. Still smiling as he let her go, he propped himself up on the counter and prepared to watch Rhia at work. It never hurt to learn new spells, and it sounded like this one could come in pretty handy in the future.
“In please,” grinned Michael as Rhia stood there looking at him with one of those expressions. “You know how much I like watching you tap a line. You just look so incredibly hot when I know how much power your channeling.” He said with a little shudder of pleasure.

Rhia grabs her smallest spell pot, pouring part of the medium into it. She puts the small pot off to the side for the moment, deciding to make the wards first and then concentrate on her spell check potion.
With a final wink at Michael, Rhia turns back to her supplies and says her trigger word. A set of learned actions work their way through her, burned into her memory and set into motion by the single word uttered by her mouth. Her circle blinks into existance, taking on the bluish hue of her aura. Her ponytail floats about in a nonexistant breeze, a few strands breaking free and fluttering softly by her face.
She checks her circle, happy with it's construction, then gets to work on the wards.

Michael sat back and watched with interest as Rhia went to work, silently cursing himself for not bringing a note pad into the circle with him. He would just have to remember what he saw and ask Rhia to fill in the gaps in his memory later.
He had always wished that he could find a way to be able to quicken and invoke his own charms. One of his hobbies/obsessions had been trying to find a way of increasing his power so that he would be on more level terms with the witch population. He’d had little luck in this area so far, but he wasn’t going to give up yet.
No matter how hard he tried though, he would always look at Rhia as being somewhat superior than him in strength. Not that he would ever admit that to her.

Rhia works in quiet concentration, not wanting to let anything distract her from the difficult charm. If she did this right, which she knew she would, then all that the vamp girl's parents would have to do is drop a few drops of the fluid in any door or window and an impenetrable ward would appear, similar to the circle she had drawn.
She opens a small vial from the pile of supplies, pouring the small bit of the clear liquid into the spell pot. She had made sure to get samples of both parent's saliva before she left them so that they would be the only ones able to break the ward.
Finally, Rhia massages her blood into the brew, smiling again at the redwood scent. She grabs a small funnel and a large dropper vial from the counter and pours the mixture inside.
Setting everything aside for a dip in her dissolution vat, she turns and smiles at Michael. "Well, the wards are done. Now to make the spell check potion. Care to step in a little closer to check things out? And for once, I'm not talking about my ass."
Rhia grins playfully at Michael.

Michael scowled at Rhia as he moved in closer to get a better view of the next spell, lightly nudging her with his hip as he looked down at the ingredients laid out on the counter.
“I’ll have you know that your peachy ass isn’t the only thing I think about.” He says as he looks at her through narrowed eyes. “There’s all the other pleasant parts of you that get an equal share of my attention.” He smirked as his hand sneaked down to pinch her bottom.
“So how about you showing me this spell and stop trying to distract my poor male brain by making it picture you naked.” Michael says trying his best to look like he was suffering, but failing miserably due to the grin that kept breaking through his façade.

"Forever the martyr," Rhia says, grinning, as she nudges Michael back.
"Ok, this starts out just like your basic spell check spell, but with a few differences at the end," Rhia explains as she begins to work. She outlines each step, happy that at least she could show him something he hadn't seen before.
This is one spell she's rather proud of, and it shows. When she finishes, she pulls a smaller dropper bottle over and pours the charmed liquid inside it.
"And that's that." She says with a smile as she screws the dropper lid on. Just then, the doorbell rings. Rhia grins. "Perfect timing. I'm starved."

Michael grinned as he pushed himself from the counter he had been leaning on while he had been watching Rhia literally doing her magic. He was sufficiently impressed by the simple but effective spell Rhia had cast, and was already thinking about all its wonderful applications in their work.
He stood just at the edge of the chalk circle and placed his hands on his hips, tapping his foot as he looked expectantly at Rhia. “Sorry love, but I don’t share your aura.” He said running his hand over the invisible wall of Everafter.
“I’m afraid you’re going to have to let me out if you want to eat. Unless of course you want me to show you a handy trick for escaping circles.” His eyes twinkling as he wondered if Rhia knew this handy little piece of knowledge.

Rhia turns, watching Michael as he stands by the edge of her circle with his hands on his hips. Her mind falls completely in the gutter, and she wonders which is mroe important, jumping Michael or eating pizza. She smirks at him, eyeing up and down, sighing when her stomach lightly grumbles. Apparently her stomach was going to win this argument.
"A handy trick you say?" Rhia says with a grin. "By all means, show me."
Rhia leans back against the counter, matching Michael's stance, knowing how much he enjoys showing her what he can do.

Michael smirked as he watched Rhia giving him one of those looks, which was usually followed by lots of noise, heavy breathing and plenty of censorship. He really did like Rhia more than he was able to admit to himself or her for that matter.
Rhia was a strong, confident woman with a quick mind and a sharp tongue. She was also extremely caring, but quite capable of becoming a devil if you got on the wrong side of her.
In the short time that they had met and started dating, it was already obvious to Michael that he would be more than happy to spend the rest of his days in her company. The crazy wild monkey sex as they had come to call it was just a bonus, he thought to himself with a wicked grin on his face.
Standing by the edge of the circle, Michael took his hands from his hips and laid one on the barrier of Everafter and tucked the other in his pocket. With his relaxed manner it almost looked as if he could be waiting for a bus as he leant against the circle. He closed his eyes and began to mumble quietly with what must have sounded like gibberish words flowing from his mouth.
Without warning the circle fell and Michael turned to face Rhia with a smug smile. “Impressed.” He said as he stood there with both his hands now tucked away in his jean pockets.

"Very," Rhia says with a grin as she makes her way to her purse on the counter. She reaches inside and grabs some money out of her wallet. "And you can tell me why you kept your hand in your pocket when I get back with the food."
Rhia kisses Michael's neck and smiles sweetly at him. Giggling softly, she heads to the door.
She comes back to the kitchen a few minutes later, with two large pizza boxes and a small box for breadsticks in her arms. She lays them down on them down on the counter and moves the the pantry to grab some paper plates.
She begins to clean up the spellwork mess, wanting that done before she eats. "So, how did you do that and why did you keep your hand in your pocket?" Rhia asks Michael as she dunks a spell pot in the dissolution vat.

Michael sat down on one of the high stools by the counter and grabbed one of the pizza boxes, all the while maintaining his air of innocence. “I’m quite certain I have no idea what you are talking about. “ Smiled Michael as he pulled a lone pepperoni slice off of the pizza and popped it into his mouth before it burnt his hand.
“The only thing in my pocket was my hand and a couple of every day household items.” He grinned, enjoying that for just a moment he had Rhia stumped. “What exactly do you think I have that could break through a circle?”

Rhia raises an eyebrow and crosses her arms in front of her chest. "Probably something that has my aura all over it."
Rhia finishes up with her cleanup and moves to the sink to wash her hands. "So, she says over her shoulder, still at the sink. Are you going to tell me or leave me in suspense?" She turns, drying her hands, and heads over to the chair next to Michael.
"So, you either have something with my aura on it, or something that would somehow make a link to something outside the circle, with a radio signal or something like that. Care to tell me which?"

Michael’s head fell back and he laughed out loudly, pausing to cough when he began to choke on his food. Beating his chest for a moment to regain his breath, Michael proceeded to empty his pocket. First came a set of keys, closely followed by a packet of gum that he laid out on the worktop. He glanced up at Rhia and shook his head.
As he pulled out the next item he couldn’t keep the smile of his face. In his hand was a sleek black cell phone about the size of a credit card and almost as thin. He then reached under his shirt and pulled out a small pager that had been clipped to his belt and placed on the counter next to the phone.

Rhia laughs loudly, shaking her head at Michael. She had gotten used to his pranks over the past few months and had started making it a point to keep her eyes out for them.
She picks up the pager from the table with a grin on her face. She lays it back down on the table, shaking her head again as she puts a slicce of pizza on the plate in front of her.
"So, you paged yourself, knowing the signal would go out and come back in to break the circle. The gibberish mumbling was a nice touch, made it seem authentic." Rhia giggles again, pushing at Michael with her hip.
"Too bad it was a hoax. Here I was ready to jump you with that smug look on your face," she teases.
