Sybelle Sybelle sent a silent thanks to the Mother for Lionheart's prudence, before perking an eyebrow at Lyn's scowl, slightly incredulous. Perhaps he hasn't explained as thoroughly as she believes... Sybelle shifted slightly in her seat, folding her hands in her lap. "Freely, Lady Lyndis? I fear you are mistaken. We are extremely careful amongst those not our true and dear friends. There are those in Midland that would have us killed for nothing more than being what we are." Her expression darkened, her thoughts turning to Clement's madness, and her children. "My own son and heir was nearly subject to such brutality." Despite herself, a delicate shudder ran through the noble woman. Roland Roland merely favored Lionheart with a slight frown. It was an old debate between them, seemingly with no resolution. He could insist that the people would also like a lord who would be taken seriously by his peers as well until he was blue in the face and it would likely not crack the man's resolve a whit. As Lionheart turned the subject aside, removing his breastplate, Roland shrugged slightly. "Your 'fiasco', as they will certainly put it, will likely relieve some gossip from the Torrence boy. Not to mention distract some of the hotheads that wish to raid into the north and east beyond our current borders. Perhaps I should thank you."

Lyn Lyn arched an eyebrow, "Oh, theres such amongst the plains as well. But it's easier to move amongst people if your another face in the crowd in a city." She stretched slightly, "On the plains eyes tend to be looking everywhere and at everyone. As is the case of what happened to my clan. We've become adept at hunting down those that would fanaticaly hunt our kind down just to kill us for being what we are....We've become very, very good at it. Myself in particulare. they've earned a high spot on my list." She frowns slightly. LionHeart LionHeart smirked slightly, "The nort hand east are your concern, I'm afraid my friend. I let noone past my borders and lands without exclusive writ from you to prevent such from happening." He stretches, "My fiasco huh? Such as every aristocratic 'lord' and Lord-knight that would see me removed from this kingdom minus my head upon my shoulders beleiving that I would slaughter innocents when It's been proven time again that I'd no sooner walk into a den of lions wearing a loincloth and a strip of meat tied to my neck then kill an innocent person?" LionHeart snorted, "It's no well kept secret that I'm noble by kings decree and that in the eyes of the aristocrats and Noble-blue blooded lord-knights that a peasant can rise from the ranks of the commons and become a lord I am still - to them, a commoner. they tolerate me because of our friendship M'lord. They know to attempt on me would bring the kingdom about their ears." LionHeart smirked, "That and I can garuntee that when he time comes - Nothing'll keep the nobles attention away from the Torrence boy. William is a good friend, as is the Lady Sybelle. And they have many firends - some of which would wish a different heir to take their steed to save any undue harm come to their line." As he claimed another goblet of whine he leaned foreward, "I can say I deserve no thanks until I'm blue in the face and tired, and As usual you'll insist my friend. your welcome my friend."

Illiana Illiana had arrived in a flurry of skirts, pale blue eyed anger and raven hair. She had -not- been pleased when she found out that they had deliberately kept her from being present at her fathers 'trial' by not telling her about it. She may not wield nearly as much power as he, but she was his daughter, and if it weren't for her sharp acumen and brain his lands wouldn't be able to send such large tithes to King Roland. She loved the man like a second father, if it hadn't been for his libraries she might not have been able to help her fathers land donate more money, more grain, more surplus sundries and men-at-arms than likely any other two nobles. Her fathers lands were prosperous because her father was loved. that did many things for them. It made the common man and woman more willing to part with excess things they otherwise would have wasted. Large families were encouraged that way they could better sustain family lines. Her pale blue eyes leveled on the sitting room she knew her father and Roland were in. She kept many contacts in the kings castle, a large number of them being servants. As she looked to the two guards standing at the door she'd curtsy politely and flourish a half dozen pieces of rolled parchment, "My father forgot these, and if he's to make any sort of formal report to the king about anything he'll need them." Two of the guards stifled grins, or at least that's what she assumed they were as their heads moved and they parted the doors to allow the woman to breeze into the room with all the airs of a noblewoman in awed respect for her King, and all the pomp of a daughter knowing she was interrupting, "My King." She'd bow and smile, curtsy and then in a chiding tone, "You, Father, Are in trouble. First, marrying a savage? then Murder? And -now- Forgetting your papers? honestly. what am I to do with you?" She'd bend and hug the man, she'd chosen a simple gown for this, it skirted the boundaries of acceptable while keeping her modesty intact. A hard feat to do these days with the girl. A dark blue dress with silver embroidery a daringly cut neck and with small slits in the sides of the dress to allow it to flow over her legs and allow her to move without taking hobbled steps, it was off her shoulders leaving neck and shoulders bared where her best feature - her hair could hang about them and down her back, framing her exotically featured face. Dumping the parchments in his lap she'd beam towards Roland, "I apologize my king, for my fathers perpetual stubbornness." Her voice was soft and she was quite diplomatic as she moved to, yes, hug him also. Customs be damned. she'd spent too damned long out on the plains with Lyndis' clan to not pick up -some- good things. LionHeart Was about to add more to his running commentary to Roland, likely backpedaling to try and give his liege some words in edge wise.... until his daughter entered the room waving papers and decrying the man himself. He'd look to the shief of papers and then pat himself, and groaning, leave it to his well traveled, highly educated daughter to flaunt it infront of the king. He's hug her and give Roland a helpless look, Lyndis may be his match, but Illiana was his minder. She usually had answers to things he didn't have any knowledge of... Mainly, how the hell his peasants managed to come up with so damned much for the monthly tithe... He simply attributed it to magic. The girl was a wizard, "I see you've returned from your visit to Lady Lyndis' clan then... I wasn't figuring you'd be back for another month..." His tone was sheepish, as if he'd been caught red handed. The look Illiana gave him back was amused, "Since I may soon be calling my best friend 'Mother' I thought it prudent to share my magic touch with organization with them." Then she'd whirl on Roland, "And you need to stop encouraging him, M'lord. He grows bolder the more trouble you help him find."

Sybelle Sybelle favored the other woman with a soft smile, inclining her head a little to her reasoning. "Granted, there's advantage to being one of the masses, but it is also true that one is less missed if they are so. Those seeking eyes may find a missing face disturbing, where a casual glance at a crowd elicits no such alarm," she offered. The plainswoman alluded to her own tribe's plight and Sybelle's features grew more apologetic. "I am sorry for your people's troubles." The fact that Lyndis confessed to her therians hunting down their aggressors did not elude her. While she couldn't fault her, with her own private assassin, she hoped that they practiced the same caution. Turning such thoughts aside, Sybelle allowed herself to concentrate on the things that she could play a hand in. Such as this new woman joining with Lionheart and, thus, the court. She claimed to be the leader among her own people. Would she challenge William and seek his submission? Masking such concerns with a polite smile, Sybelle leaned toward the other woman a bit, as though eager on the topic to come. "You intend to see through with the wedding to Lionheart. Will your people be following you from the plains to become a part of our kingdom?" She perked an eyebrow slightly. "A part of our 'pack'?" Roland Roland chuckled at Lionheart's dismissal of the northern and eastern borders of the kingdom. They were indeed his concern. There weren't any conflicts with the Northlanders at the moment, but all it would take was one hot-headed raid into their lands from his more restless nobles. The lord knight moved on to the subject of the jumped up trial and Roland snorted. "They want your blood all the more for your devotion. If they can prove the good man brought low, they won't feel as bad about what they're doing behind my back, will they?" He didn't get a chance to further that line of thought, as the doors to the sitting room opened, admitting a familiar face. The king's features brightened a little with a pleased smile as Illiana breezed in, favored him with a curtsy and set in on her father. He laughed, gesturing to the girl. "See, the outrage begins already. And from the home front!" he declared, amusement evident in his voice. Never mind that she was embracing her father in the same moment and delivering his papers. Then, she turned to her monarch with a beaming smile and apology. For her father, of course. And he found himself on the receiving end of a hug, while Lionheart recovered from her arrival. The poor man had just barely done so when she rounded on him, with more commentary on his choice in brides. Then back again to the king, scolding him. Roland laughed, wagging an admonishing finger at the young woman. "A king must use and even encourage his vassals as he can to get the best service of them, my dear," he claimed, allowing himself a discreet look at her. Not that Roland was a lecherous man, but Sol help him if he could ignore the combination of the daring gown and recent hug. He paused a moment and perked an eyebrow, looking from daughter to father and back again. "Am I to be blamed for her boldness too?"

Lyndis Lyn took the show of sympathy from Sybelle in stride, smiling graciously, "We've already begun rebuilding and moving on." thinking about things for a few moments she'd chuckle softly, "It never hurts to have...diplomatic ties to other tribes, packs and such. My time will mostly be spent on the plains alongside my people ensuring that the borders my ancestors once roamed and protected stay secure, If that means marrying LionHeart? I'm willing to sacrifice a little time to return here and try to blend in with the massess, as you say... Though this puts me in a spot. Some of the Therians in his land - when they heard of what happened were all to ready to relocate... To escape this... Clement." She said the word with the venom of a woman who found herself powerless to stop the very sun from raising and setting on her command. Pausing she recovered and rubbed the bridge of her nose and quaffed the last of what was left in her wineglass with a sigh, "Many deep apologies... LionHeart may have skimped on the details with the packs here, but his 'Daughter' was very, very insistant that she tell me everything.. And I've always reaso nto lsiten to my new Beta when she speaks, I tend to listen." Yes, she'd just called Illiana her Beta, then she paused, "... Illiana was quick and eager to join my pack... I'm... not here to steal others, and she insisted it would be good for everyone else to see the her join with my clan as a human, and pack as my beta since... the womans a magician with running things... and I suspect this keeps her busy. She's a very..." she coughs, "Persistent young woman. And continues to warn me she'd be very cross should I not even her father out a bit by taking to his marriage bed." Lyn wasn't against the idea, in fact she saw it as a way to potentially bridge the gaps between those that saw her people as 'Savages' and the corrupt ignorant 'civilized' peoples, and gain a new ally and trade partner. The latter Illiana's idea, the former hers, "I also, wish to speak of the mater with the Alpha of whatever pack claims these lands as theirs... I don't want this seen as some foreign invasion and conscription." Her shoulders lowered a notch, obviously the matter troubled her, and the tone of her voice showed it, "I don't want enemies... I've enough of them, and being as young as I am... that means I've a long, long life ahead of me to see which of them will be a consistant thorn in me, I'd like to have my visits here be pleasant and...relaxing if you will." No, she wouldn't challenge William, that was the furthest thing from her mind, apologizing for her Betas machinations were, and a promise to ensure all peoples returned to their lands should it be an insult that the local packs and Alphas. Illiana LionHeart Lionheart stared at his daughter, his face buried in his hands to muffle his laughter as the woman took to both men like a whirling dervish of the plains. She was a moving riot of skirts and hair as she not only admonished him but Roland as well. Perhaps there were advantages to being a good friend of the king afterall, if not for Rolands good nature he was sure Illiana would have been carted off to the stockades long ago he mused to himself silently as he looked up redfaced, "No... I fear that I must take credit for her boldness. I cannot deny that she is far beyond my ability to keep her in check, not since her recent visit to the plaisn with Lady Lyn... She seems to see helping the womans clan rebuilt as her personal mission and I've not seen such fire in her eyes or such boldness in her posture since they day she turned but thirteen and pointedly made a show of 'fixing the deplorable situation' my lands were in... speaking of..." He'd glance to Illiana who had fallen silent and was now beaming, if rather smugly, off to the side with just the precise hint of demureness to show that she didn't mean it, but couldn't be accused of trying to be a tart. She'd blink towards him innocently before blowing him a kiss, "Well, go on father, give the Good King the rolls, I'm quite sure he'll be more than pleased." Was that a tone of eagerness in her voice? Unfurling the parchments he couldn't help but scan them slowly, pausing to turn the right side up, much to Illiana's amusement. She'd long ago taught him how to read the figures and he'd let an eyebrow climb higher, "... you appropriated a full third of the tithe and sent it to Lyn's people as a good will and trade?... and still met the full tithe?" He sounded astonished... as he handed the figured over to Roland. this years surplus. All of it. In everything that could have been stockpiled had been send to the Roland as a tithe, minus a third of said surplus that was being used to foster trade among the plainsmen. He could only wish to be the gnat on the ass of the mule when it hits a tribe other than the Ironwolves with a envoy from his lands stating they wish good will and to trade. LionHeart looked to his daughter as she beamed, no longer demure and all smug satisfaction, "You did pay good coin to ensure that I got a very good education, father, one that ensures that I stay out of trouble." As if. She managed to find more trouble than a pack of weasels in a brothel. Turning to Roland she'd smile, "And, It never helps to extend ones good will and influence so that a certain Lord can continue to remain in a certain Kings favor by providing twice the tithe of any other two lords." She was playing at something here as she settled down and claimed a wineglass for herself, sipping it and then brightening, "ooooh, a good year my lord, compliments to your servants for getting you an excellent years vintage of wine." She's swirl her glass around, "I'll have to find out who's vineyard and convince them to trade..." She'd pause, and then grin, "Wait... I know this taste." She'd sip it again, Roland and LionHeart forgotten, "Somewhere in the Torrences holdings. I'll have to speak with Sybelle and William..." She'd pause reigning in her thoughts, she loved her wines, but there were other matters, "If I am interrupting... I can go, M'lord." She meant it to both LionHeart and Roland, "Actually, perhaps, I should go and seek out Sybelle, and inquire about her son..."Oh... lord. LionHeart would glance towards Roland, trying to keep from laughing as his daughter turned from wizard to girl at the mention of the Torrence boy... And then she was off before she could be stopped leaving the room silent, "... I would apologize for her not leaving room for word in edgewise, my friend, but I'm quite sure should you ever be forced, or myself, to make a match for her... I take pity on the poor man she's ever married to." He'd drain his wine quickly and make the symbol of Sol as if in prayer for some unlucky persons soul, before chuckling, and offering the parchments to Roland, "Now...where were we?"

Sybelle Lyndis noted that her people were rebuilding and moving on, before Sybelle asked about their intentions once she joined with Lionheart. Apparently, they were content to remain 'neighbors' with the packs of the woodlands, and there was some interest in migration in the opposite direction. Sybelle perked an eyebrow slightly, but held her peace. She couldn't blame some of the others for wanting to flee Clement's reach. Lyndis rubbed her nose a moment before finishing off her drink with a sigh. She apologized for the situation and Sybelle's brow rose a little higher when she informed her that Lionheart's daughter had filled her in on woodland details. The girl would need some talking to. She was still musing on such when Lyndis named the girl her beta. Sybelle blinked. "Yes," she said slowly, drawing the word out a little. "Some of this you should really speak to William about, as he is alpha of the Midland pack," she agreed, with a nod. "I may be the priestess of the Mother, but he is our leader," Sybelle added with almost amused deference. In all honesty, she didn't expect William to object all that much. While the packs were losing members to a foreign pack, they very well may be better off. So long as his people were cared well for, he wouldn't put up a fight over the issue. With luck, William would be along soon anyway, having dealt with the prisoner in his charge. Roland Illiana was all a-whirl before her father and liege, chastising both men alike for their 'shortcomings'. Lionheart seemed content to shoulder the blame for her behavior and Roland was more than willing to let him. He was blamed for quite enough, thank you. The girl settled down with a wine while Lionheart looked over his holding's report to Roland, with some surprise. Roland was just as surprised by the figures presented to him. Finally, he let a slow whistle escape him. "That's... impressive. Met your mark and then some," he noted. "What you do with your excess is your own concern. Establishing trade with the... plainsfolk is a better venture than some nobles insist on," he added, pausing once to catch himself from saying something less diplomatic than need be with a glance to Illiana. If she was befriending the savages of the plains, it very well might offend her to call them such. Illiana seemed to have forgotten all about them in any case, her thoughts turning to the wine and its origins. Roland inclined his head with an appreciative nod when she complimented the vintage and his servants. She noted that it was from the Torrence holdings and seemed to shift tracks a little, musing on speaking to the lord and lady. When she excused herself, Roland nodded again and fought back a smirk as she made mention of young Zathaneal. More precisely, how she mentioned the lad. Once she had breezed out and Lionheart offered his apologies again, Roland allowed a sly look to cross his features. Lionheart drained his drink and sketched a symbol of Sol before offering his parchments to him. Roland plucked them from his hand and tucked them into the seat beside him to pass off to a page later and leaned forward a bit, perking an eyebrow. "Marrying you off. And possibly that whirling thing you call your daughter," he noted, smirking. "As for making a match for the little minx, she may well have just done it herself." He paused, tilting his head a little. "I wonder if it was deliberate..." Roland shook his head, as if to clear it, and continued. "Why not join her with the Torrence boy? Two of my most trusted lords combining their families? That would also deal with another problem to come up eventually," the king pointed out. "Your holdings have no heir. I'm sure that you and the Lady Lyndis will remedy this once you are properly wed in the eyes of the Father, but then that leaves young Illiana with less. Marrying her to the Torrence boy would settle that."

Lyn & Illiana Lyndis raised an eyebrow towards Sybelle and made a soft noise in the back of her throat finally, "I apologize, Stress. I carry it well, sometimes, others it wanders and makes me ramble. And the more I talk the more I feel as if I've somehow transgressed or said something I ought not have." She rubbed the bridge of her nose slowly before looking back towards Sybelle, "Im sure you've questions, curiosities and such, and I wont be offended by anything you ask, I assure you." Illiana'd creep into the solar slowly, having shucked her heeled shoes in favor of approaching Sybelle from behind to favor the woman with a gentle hug and peck on the cheek by way of greeting, "Sorry for interrupting, But King Roland has this wonderful wine. And its delightful. And gave me an excuse to come prod you and Lyn a bit. " She'd smile at and receive a nod from Lyn as she waited for the two to continue, wine in hand as she sipped it. Her business with Sybelle could wait. LionHeart LionHeart would visibly relaxe when Illiana vanished and left him and Roland sitting there. The other mans jovial reaction, and then what he said next simply floored the large man. It left him speechless to be honest. He knew Illiana admired the boy from afar..."She admires him from afar, I know they must be atleast on friendly terms since she does enjoy Sybelle and Williams company when she can escape from mine." He raised his hand to his chin and stroked the growing dribble slowly, "I can see how it would clear up a number of issues... Sybelle and William would likely be delighted im sure... but prudence demands a gathering, forcing am issue could make enemies of friends..." He'd pause, then chuckle loudly,"Perhaps, A certain King could invite certain friends to dinner this eve and we could all discuss it? Pity Zan isn't here though. Would like to hear what he'd say. Im sure Illianall take flight to see him regardless to spread the word. Women and gossip." He grinned slightly, Wondering what Roland would think of that, all prior conversation was now a moot point, he'd delivered his quota and then some and was now enjoying another glass of the fine wine,"She was right. This is good. I prefer Stout or lead, but this is quite good."

Sybelle Lyndis perked an eyebrow, then apologized, claiming that she felt she had said something she shouldn't have. Sybelle smiled and reached to pat the other woman's hand lightly. "Don't fret so, Lady Lyndis. You have caused no offense among us," she assured the woman. A certain sneak descended on the Torrence woman, offering a hug and peck on the cheek in greeting, quickly followed by an apology. Sybelle gave a start at first, before the familiar voice spoke, revealing said sneak. Just who she wanted to see, although she would have preferred some privacy. It couldn't be helped though. "What a pleasant surprise, Illiana. I had not heard that you were visiting Midland," Sybelle said, perking an eyebrow at the girl. "Nor that you were planning to join a new pack." Roland Roland watched his friend's reaction to his suggestion with some smug amusement. Lionheart confirmed his suspiscions that the girl held some admiration for the Torrence boy, even while advising caution. The king chuckle right along at his proposal for a dinner gathering and called for one of the guards at the door. "I'm sure that things can be arranged to everyone's satisfaction. Or at least the satisfaction of those involved directly in this little plot. The other nobles will have something else to chew on. Your marriage, the union of Torrence and Lionheart, the new savage noble woman. Perhaps if there's enough, they won't be able to focus on any one scandal too long," he teased. One of the guards stepped in with a deferential "m'lord?" and Roland turned to regard him. "Send a page to the Lord and Lady Torrence, requesting their presence for a private dinner tonight," Roland directed and returned his attention to Lionheart once the other man bowed and backed out of the room. "You may inform your women folk, yes?" William William Torrence left his charge with the jailors, until further orders could be issued. Lionheart wanted the man released, but there were procedures to follow before that could happen. The man would be free soon enough though. Having done his duty, William was eager to return to his lady wife. He often thanked the Mother that genuine love had grown between them, when their match was one of convenience. He was far luckier than most lords, much less one of non-human stock, few as they were. Striding through the halls of the Midland castle, the man wore a slight smile at his turn of thoughts. He was so deeply entrenched in them that he very nearly ran right over the young page seeking him out as he turned a corner. The lad rebounded off him, knocking William from his reverie. He blinked once and shook his head, reaching to steady the lad. "Beg pardon, boy. My head was in the clouds, it seems," he apologized and offered a reassuring smile. The youth recovered quickly and brightened, noting who he was. "Sorry, m'lord. All my fault, m'lord. I was sent to find you," the page said hurriedly. William paused and perked one pale blonde eyebrow. "By King Roland, m'lord," the youth added. William sobered, offering the boy a nod. "Something wrong, lad?" he asked, a slight frown tugging at his lips. The boy shook his head and he relaxed minutely. "The King requests you and the Lady Torrence for dinner, m'lord," the page added. William let out a sigh, rolling his eyes a little. And he sent a page. The lord offered another smile and patted the lad on the shoulder. "Good lad. I will tell my lady love, unless she is with the king?" William assured him, a questioning lilt entering his voice. The boy shook his head and William nodded again. "Alright then. Thank you," he added, moving to continue down the hall to reach his rooms in the castle. Sybelle had likely retreated there, to avoid risking spending any more time in Clement's extended company than necessary. He couldn't fault her there. When he reached their rooms, he heard several feminine voices from within and paused, curious. He only readily recognized Sybelle's, but it seemed to be therian business. He perked an eyebrow again and lifted a hand to smooth his hair back from his face before heading into the room. His brown eyes passed over the two other women, recognizing Illiana, before coming to settle on Sybelle. An unconscious, pleased little smile tugged at his lips briefly before courtesy demanded his attention encompass all of the ladies. William performed a polite bow for them. "Ladies, forgive my intrusion," he began. Smiling again, the lord moved to stand before Sybelle. The noble woman's cheeks were pleasantly flushed with color when she offered her hand to him and he kissed her palm, instead of the back of her hand. "My lady." William straightened and moved to stand behind her chair, one hand moving to rest on her shoulder. "William," Sybelle replied warmly, shifting to glance back at him. "This is Lady Lyndis. And, you surely remember Lady Illiana; Lionheart's daughter. It seems that our friend is to be wed," she informed him, looking between the women and her lord husband. William's mouth opened, then closed quickly with a surprised sound. "Really? I suppose congratulations are in order," the man said, tilting his head a little.

lionheart, Lyn, Illiana Lyndis grinned slightly with the pat from Sybelle and she calmed visibly, moreso when Illiana made her presence known and was then in turn called out by Sybelle. Her lips twitched lightly as an eyebrow rose, "Well. It seems that you have some explaining to do." Williams arrival foretalled her from chiding Illiana further as she rose and gave william a smile and light tilt of her head, "It should be quite the affair.. if todays events have been any indication. Its a pleasure to meet you again, Lord Torrence. " Illiana coughed slightly as she shuffled off to the side and settled on the edge of a seat, "I had every intentions of seeking you out at the earliest chance, M'lady. It.. seemed more prudent to handle things swiftly, if my Fathers going to be married then it would be quite a deal more easy should I openly and swiftly make myself busy lending aid and acting as liason or diplomat." She was being demur, a rare sight and quite amusing for Lyn as she shook her head. Illiana did brighten when William arrived and she curtsied,"Good day, Lord William." Titles even.. the girl really was doing her best to not make waves... even if trouble seemed to cling to her. LionHeart grinned slightly as Roland immediatly set to work, yes, the results could be... interesting. He wondered how William and sybelle would react. He doubted they'd complain much and Rolands idea... well, He couldn't find amy way to logic out of it. The real opposition likely would be Zan and Illiana likely. Rubbing his chin he'd grin, "You realize, with my wedding provides scandal enough. And then, Should the Torrence boy and my daughter decide to tie the knot... the kingdoms either going to be abuzz with talk and joy or rife with shock that myself and William are now likely your two most influential supporters, To be a fly on the wall when some of the more ambitious nobles find us curtailing them. Its... good to be in the kings court, and Im glad your wiser than I am. Id have made a unholy mess of things." He was grinning as he leaned back,"Ill ensure that both my daughter and the Lady are both informed... Ill head to Sybelles solar as im sure that's where Ill find them both. " he'd raise up and slip his breastplate back on, "Ill see you in a few, My friend, and Sol have mercy on us that things go smoothly.. Id hate to face the wrath of my daughter." Laughing at that he'd head for the doors. Plotting was afoot...

Darian Darian raised an eyebrow slightly towards Clement. Then rubbed his chin slowly, "Perhaps. Things seem to be run quite differently this far south... I hail from the cold north. So understandably, I may have a different view of things and as a guest, I find that perhaps my men and myself may need to return and rethink how we ourselves live." Or how to better plan a war... everywhere he looked he saw decadence and corrupt zealotry... in his warped view of it all. Stroking his chin slowly he'd chuckle," But, perhaps, not before imparting a small gift, of my men I've three others who like myself can heal with but a touch. Is there any such amongst your host of priests or perhaps, your own Paladins who are able to do such? If so, then perhaps I can find another suitable gift to impart, as a show of friendship and goodwill?" He had his reasons. He had seen his path as laid out before him by his most holiness. A lifetime of slaughter had turned him from heathen ways of barbarian and savagery. His atonement perhaps would be.found in other ways. Or perhaps not. He had killed his sister in cold blood when she revealed herself a monstrous beast of a heathen god....

Torrence Family Lyndis seemed to calm a bit at the noble woman's assurances, and more so with Illiana's arrival. Sybelle turned her attentions to the girl, a faint smirk forming when Lyndis noted her need for explanation. She was saved, for the time being, by William's appearance. Sybelle informed William of the impending wedding and introduced him to the plainswoman. Lyndis spoke up and William offered another polite bow to her. "The pleasure, my lady, is mine." Illiana interrupted with a slight cough, moving to perch on the edge of a seat, trying to explain her actions. She even offered a curtsy for William. He shot Sybelle a questioning look. "The Lady Lyndis is also an alpha of one of the packs of the plains, my Alpha," Sybelle offered. "Young Illiana has decided to join her pack, as her second. Apparently some of Lionheart's therians wish to migrate too, to avoid Clement's attentions," she continued, a slight shudder running through her. William perked an eyebrow, one hand smoothing Sybelle's hair lightly. "Truly, my ladies?" he asked, expression sobering considerably as he looked over the other two women. Roland Roland was rather pleased with his scheming thus far, and only chortled when Lionheart noted the possibility of the outrage among the other nobles. "Oh yes. I would give quite a bit to see some of their genuine reactions," Roland said, sharing a grin with the other man. Lionheart rose, donning his breastplate as he announced that he would see to informing his womenfolk. "By all means. I look forward to tonight," the monarch added with a wink.

Lyndis, Lionheart, Illiana Illiana simply stayed put, sipping her wine quietly as Sybelle explained things to William. Whatever Illiana was thinking was kept to herself as she looked towards Lyndis when she stood up. Lyn offered William a smile and was for a few moments slightly stunned when Sybelle mentioned he was alpha of the Midland packs,"Its a pleasure to meet you, again and under better circumstances I might add." She felt a bit off, normally she let others do all of the talking while she handled the physical aspects of day to day life. She wasn't displeased with Illiana, just annoyed with the womans ability to draw trouble to herself like flies to honey. After Sybelle had given her introductions Lyn could only chuckle softly, "Aye." The look on williams face spoke volumes. Lionheart stretched as he moved through the halls and passageways of the keep, pausing as he knocked gently upon the door to Sybelles solar, He adopted an officious tone of voice as he spoke,"Lady Sybelle, Lady Lyndis, Lady Illiana. Your presances are requested this evening for a dinner with His Majesty, King Roland Osgood." He was trying his damndest to keep from laughing as a few passersby turned their eyes his way. He of course would making shooing motions to get them to continue on their way.

Torrences William looked from Illiana to Lyndis and drew in a slow, steadying breath when the other alpha confirmed his lady's information. His lips compressed in a thin line before he spoke, his posture somewhat stiffened since his arrival tot he solar. Not quite defensive, but prepared to be if the situation called for it. "I cannot fault them for it, my lady. Often we all have wished to be rid of the man, without upsetting things unnecessarily," William said solemnly, still stroking his wife's hair. She seemed to draw comfort from the simple gesture, nodding in agreement. William turned his gaze to Illiana again and allowed his lips to quirk in a faint smirk. "Nor can I fault you, little feline, although some word would have smoothed things over considerably," he noted, then tilted his head to one side. "Did you think we would try to forbid you?" A knock at the door forestalled further conversation. The Midland alpha half turned to look toward the door and heard Lionheart's voice from beyond, calling to the ladies within. His features lightened slightly and he crossed the space between him and the door, reaching to pull it open. Spotting the other man, William grasped for his arm, seeking to draw him in. "Oh, you need to come inside first, my friend. Have you any notion what your womenfolk are unleashing on me?" William asked, gesturing towards the three ladies and striving to close the door once he tugged Lionheart within.

LionHeart, Illiana, Lyn Illiana was the picture of innocence as she sat there, well, picture of innocence if one could ever consider the morbid feline innocent. She had ideas on what she wanted to do to Clement, most of them involving scandal and politicking his downfall. Williams words made her look up from her plotting with a wide eyed look of innocence, "I.. No... " She knew he likely wouldn't have, and she found herself rubbing the bridge of her nose with a finger, "I'm sorry." As William dragged her father into the room she'd blink over at him, "I'm innocent! I swear it!" Lyndis was rather amused at the whole affair, Illiana was enthusiastic enough, but had apparently thought better to beg forgiveness than ask. She'd have to take care of that eventually she supposed, "I apologize if this causes any form of issue-" Her words were cut short as LionHeart was dragged into the room by William, an eyebrow raising as she leaned back in the seat biting her tongue to avoid laughing, "His womenfolk hmn?" LionHeart blinked a bit when William opened the door and ushered him inside, insisting that his womenfolk had unleashed themselves upon him, a hand lightly stroking the stubble along his chin, "You don't say?" Illianas cry of innocence made him snort, loudly, "You've never been innocent a day in your life, My dear." Looking to Sybelle he'd smile, "I'll make sure she wears something formal, I believe she still has that lovely pink, frilly -" he had to stop short of calling it a thing, "Dress you got her as a gift? Or was it Zan? It's been awhile." He'd glance towards William and offer his hand, Illiana's look of horror was not missed, and he knew he'd pay hell for it later, "My friend, It's good to see you again."

Torrence William asked the youth if she had been afraid that he would deny her departure and she rubbed at her nose. She apologized and William turned his attention to Lyndis as she spoke up. He started to shake his head at the additional apology, but he too was interrupted by Lionheart's arrival. Sybelle favored the other woman with an amused smile, almost a smirk, at the plains woman's comment. William pulled the other lord inside, chuckling at Illiana's outcry of innocence. Her father denied that she ever had been and William snorted. Lionheart looked to Sybelle, assuring her that he would make the girl wear something nice. She inclined her head with a gracious nod, trying to hide a grin. "I believe it diplomatic to blame Zan of that, for the moment," she replied, casting Illiana a glance. Lionheart went on to greet William properly and the therian lord clasped his hand with a smile. "And you, although I think you should have come up with a better excuse to get here. Really, charges against you?" he teased. "Couldn't you just say that you wanted to see us all?" He perked an eyebrow. "Enough teasing, I think, my lords," Sybelle offered, beginning to rise. "And if we are to dine with our king, perhaps my lords should allow us to prepare." William looked to her with a smile. "Of course, my lady," he conceded, then looked to Lionheart again. "Free for a time? I'd enjoy speaking with you while the ladies prepare," he suggested, nodding towards the women. Sybelle was already standing, turning her attention to Lyndis and Illiana. "Do you require anything? Assistance? You are welcome to remain and prepare here in my rooms. Servants can bring your things," she offered.
