Rhia yelps a bit as Michael starts to fall, pulling her with him. He catches himself and sets them both right, then smirks at her to say sorry. She laughs a bit, shaking her head as he puts his arm around her.
She grins, scooting herself over on the railing to snuggle close to him as he continues talking.
"So, where had the girl been hiding in the house?" she asks, grinning.

“That was the problem my dear.” Michael grinned back as he watched a small bird land on the lawn, and start searching for food. Prax’s family had only lived in the garden for a few weeks now, so the poor bird didn’t know any better. If it stuck around any longer I really didn’t fancy its chances.
“I’d convinced the mother to allow me to search the house again, but I came up empty handed.” He said with a shrug of the shoulders.
“I was starting to become worried for the girls safe being. That’s when the entire family turned up on the doorstep as if things weren’t already stressful enough. I almost caused a stampede in the living room when I started moving furniture about and pulled out my candles before marking out a circle on the carpet.”

Rhia laughs at the picture in her head of the family watching, in a mixture of shock and curiosity, Michael at work.
“Get to the good part, babe. What happened? Where was the girl? Did you get paid? Did you make us lunch?” Rhia smiles sweetly at Michael when she adds that last question. The better part of all of their conversations included teasing each other mercilessly, and they both loved it.

“Hey, you asked how my day went and I’m telling you. You’ll just have to sit there and starve until I finish.” Laughed Michael as he gave Rhia a playful pinch in the side.
“Now where was I before I was rudely interrupted.” Grinned Michael as he purposely took his time to continue. “That’s right a circle in the front room. I started to believe that maybe the girl had accidentally got herself pulled into the Everafter somehow. Big mistake. I informed the mother of my fears and she completely lost the plot. One of the aunts was forced to put her out with a sleep charm before she did herself any harm. She needn’t have worried, I was completely wrong.” The smirk returning to his face as he thought of the panic he’d caused.
“I was just about ready to give up at that point and tell them to call the I.S. That's when I went to freshen up in the downstairs bathroom and ended up solving the mystery.”

Rhia laughs, her body arching away a bit from Michael as he pinches a ticklish spot on her side. She glares playfully at him as he takes his time continuing with his story.
“I think you enjoy teasing clients as much as you do teasing me. No mother ever would be able to keep her cool when someone tells her that her daughter may be in the ever after. So, what happened? Daughter have a hot date, a pimple and no complexion charms, so she hid in the bathroom?” she asks with a grin.

Michael pulled Rhia close again, enjoying her warmth through his shirt on the chilly morning. He grinned back as she glared at him, placing a quick kiss on the end of her nose and chuckling away to himself. He couldn’t help but love teasing the poor woman. It wasn’t his fault that it was during these teasing moments that Rhia was at her most enticing. The way she smiled and the sparkling of her eyes just sent goose bumps all down his back.
“It wasn’t quite that simple,” Explained Michael, as he watched the poor bird suddenly get dragged into a bush by a pair of tiny pale arms to probably never be seen again. “But pretty close.” He said turning back to Rhia as he began playing with her fingers on the hand wrapped around him.
“It was as I was washing my hands that I started to notice the way the bathroom was decorated. Black sink, bath and all the tiling was in a dark grey. It just seemed completely out of place in a witch’s home. I asked the family and they confirmed that the previous owner had been a living vamp and they had just never gotten around to re-decorating. How many living vamps do you know that have a house and no basement apartment?” Michael smiled with a confident nod of his head.
“I certainly hadn’t seen one in my investigations of the property, so after another search of the downstairs, I found a secret door built into the wooden paneling beneath the stairs. The girl had found the basement room and had managed to get herself trapped when the door had automatically sealed her in. The entrance to the downstairs room had been set on a timer to stop an undead from accidentally getting an unwanted sun tan.” He said with a grin.

Rhia wrinkles her nose after Michael kisses it. She laughs, enjoying snuggling up close to him on such a nice, cool day. This first bit of chilly weather was just a preview of the days to come. If Prax and his kids didn't get settled somewhere warm soon, they'd all fall into hibernation, and waking them up from that early could kill them. She makes a mental note to talk to Prax when he and Cinderella get back about taking up residence in her old house. She had come to really care for Prax and his family, happy that he seemed to take a liking to her as well.
She listens as Michael regales her with the events of his run. Just like Michael, she knew just where the girl was stuck/hiding when he talked about the bathroom's color scheme. She grins, trying to picture the mother's face when waking up after being told her daughter may be in the ever after.
"And so, another crisis averted. Michael Draven saves the day!" Rhia says, sounding like a television announcer. She laughs, poking him gently in the side. "Now can I have lunch?"

Bugger thought Michael as he grimaced internally. He hadn’t known Rhia all that long, but he was quickly finding out that it was nigh impossible to distract the woman with random conversation. They’d come to an agreement that while living together they would take it in turns to cook for one another, unless of course one of them got home early in which case it only seemed fair that they should prepare the meal.
It just so happened that Michael had arrived home hours ago and it was his turn to cook, so it was a pity that he had completely forgotten about the note Rhia had left stuck to the fridge door reminding him to buy groceries. “Yeah about lunch,” Said Michael with a wide apologetic smile. “Might have a bit of a problem there. We kinda have nothing in the house at the moment.”

Rhia raises an eyebrow, doing her best not to laugh. In the time that she had known Michael, she had found that while he had a great memory for magic, he couldn’t remember daily things like grocery shopping.
“You know what, Michael…” Rhia sighs, feigning annoyance. “Well, I guess it’s a good thing I stopped by the Chinese place and picked up takeout.”
Rhia grins mischievously and pushes herself off the railing to land on her feet. She turns and stands in front of Michael. “It’s a good thing I think of the little things, or you’d probably starve to death.” She leans forward and kisses Michael quickly, still grinning.

Michael leapt off of the railings and pulled Rhia into a hug, arms locked around her back as he grinned broadly at her. “You know, I think you were absolutely right. I really wouldn’t know what I would do with out you.” He said, still smiling as he leaned down and kissed her gently on the lips.
Loosening his hold on Rhia, he took a step back before chuckling away to himself. “Do you need to check if it’s safe to go back in the house? I still remember what happened the last time we decided to get Chinese take-out.”

Rhia laughs as Michael jumps out in front of her arms wraps hugs her tight. She returns his kiss and smiles at him when he steps back. Keeping her arms around his waist, she laughs again.
“That’s one benefit of having pixies in the house. If there were vamp thugs in there waiting for us, I’m sure they’d let us know. Let’s just try to keep the noodles off the walls this time.”
Rhia grins, remembering the night vividly. They had come back to her house, Chinese food in hand, when three thugs sent by an ‘old friend’ of Michael’s showed up on her doorstep to teach Michael a lesson.
That was the first time they really saw what they both could do and found that they really did make a good team.

“I make no promises,” Laughed Michael as he took Rhia’s hand in his. “Besides, I seem to remember you looking extremely turned on that night. I’ve been starting to think inviting vampire thugs over on a regular basis could be quite fun.”
Taking one last look at the abandoned project in the garden, Michael shook his head as he promised to leave the DIY alone in future. “Come on then,” He said, lightly tugging at her arm with a smile on his face as he pulled her towards the kitchen door. “You know how much I hate having to microwave food when it gets cold.”

Rhia laughs, allowing herself to be pulled into the kitchen. Keeping Michael's hand in her's, she moves to the counter where she had left her bags.
She quickly seperates her charm supplies, leaving them in their bags for now and setting them off to the side. She pulls the takeout bag close to her, taking the food out and placing it all out on the counter before her. She grins, winking at Michael as she hands him his food.
"If you remember, I get the same look in my eye after sparring. Why don't we keep the vampire thugs away and just practice more. A lot more," Rhia says with a laugh as she hands Michael a fork.

“Thank you.” Grinned Michael in reply as he plucked the fork from Rhia’s hand and dived straight into the carton of chow mein without waiting to serve everything up on plates. After swallowing what was a disgracefully large helping of chow mein in one gulp, he rested his fork on the counter and reached into a drawer to pull out a couple of plates.
“We’ll definitely have to spar more if I keep forgetting to buy groceries.” Michael laughed as he set one of the plates down in front of Rhia. ”This must be our third take-out in a week. If we keep this up neither of us will be fit enough to actually be able to do any kind of running. Which reminds me….” Said Michael with a start as he recalled a couple of things he'd done that afternoon before Rhia had returned home.
“I was thinking about signing us up for a local dojo I found in the area. I’ve got that company coming around in a few days time to lay the silver in the circles in the main office area. Once we get the rest of the office furniture in there I don’t think there will be enough room to spar in the house any more and it’s going to get way too cold in the garden soon.”

"Sounds like a good idea to me," Rhia says, taking a bite of her chicken. "And speaking of the garden, I picked up some of those seedlings we were talking about while I was at the charm shop. It's getting way to expensive to buy all of our supplies. We have a good start with what we've planted so far, so I figure we just need to pick up a few more things."
