A vast mountain range runs from the arctic regions of Odamar to its southern coast, dividing the plains and desert lands. Vast caverns and tunnels lace through the mountains, offering a home to those who appreciate the solitude and are willing to endure the hardships of living there. Often, this makes an ideal situation for fae and therianthropes to co-exist with humans with limited contact. It is especially convenient for nocturnally inclined therians, due to the darkness of the caverns.
Kurun
Kurun is the largest, most integrated cavern system of the chain of mountains., and primarily subterranean, although there is a surface level. Surrounding Kurun, there are veins of ores and stones to be mined, offering a steady trade for those that dwell there. Kurun is overseen by a council of tradesmen that see to the day to day details and arbitrations of the people there.
Important Figures
Gratz - Earth Fae; unofficial leader of the Kurun council. Gratz is a male earth fae of nearly two and half centuries. He is a jewel carver by trade and commands the respect of most of the Kurun council.

Shetan Rentas Just north of Kurun Shetan looked back over his shoulder toward the edges of Kurun proper, his dark lips curling back over his sharp teeth in a low growl. Even in hybrid form, his tapered muzzle was powerful enough to snap bone. The dark therian turned back to look to the path that wound through the mountains surrounding the quasi-town. Further north, he had begun prowling a small territory, centered around a comfortable cave. It wasn’t large enough to support more than himself, but that was all he required for the time being and it ensured that none of the residing therians took objection to his presence. The tall therian shook himself slightly, lifting his head to look to the eye of the Mother high above. Her gaze alternately illuminated the night and created shadows for him to slip through as he made his way back to the cave he had claimed for himself. He was almost grateful that the moon was full, the call of the goddess demanding the change in her predatory children. At the first twinges of her call, he had debated exploring the nearby therians’ claims. Perhaps he would remain in the mountains for a time and carve out his own territory. That had been discarded though. The mountains were too remote for his liking. Instead, Shetan drew a deep breath, taking in the scents of the night. Scents both familiar and foreign mingled on the air, tickling his nose. The musky scent of smaller creatures that hid along his path, hoping to evade the predator, tantalized him. His tongue ran over his teeth and dark lips, his mouth beginning to water. Hunger stirred within his gut. He would hunt.

Shetan Just north of Kurun Shetan sprawled lazily on the rocks outside of his cave, reclining against the natural incline of the rocks. He shifted to fold his arms behind his head, looking out over the winding trails through the scrub brush of the mountains, allowing his breath to escape in a slow trickling sigh. He tried to relax, his brow furrowing slightly at the nagging twinge that thwarted his efforts. He should be on the move. Searching, seeking, fighting, claiming. It was like an itch in the back of his head. The same itch that had urged him to challenge his father. Shetan scowled at the memory, pushing himself from the rocks to stand, beginning to pace before the mouth of his small cave. Too small. Too small for another, for a Pack, for him. He knew that he wouldn't stay in it long, but he hadn't thought that his instincts would drive him out of it so soon. Reasonable though... he mused, his dark eyes returning to the trails. A mate... cubs.. a Pack...Shaking himself, the dark skinned therian stalked into the cave to find his pack. Filling it with provisions and clothing, he buckled the flap and caught up an open vest, pulling it on before shouldering his pack. He briefly considered his form, then sighed, resigned to human form. He would have to tread more carefully on the loose rocks and sands, but he could move freely, without worry of being seen. Perhaps a trip into Kurun would soothe the itch a bit longer.

Aaron wasn't sure were he was any more. He had been traveling for a month now and was completely lost. He was usually great at finding his way, but something about these mountains confused him.
He had started out in the plains around Loden. He had stop in Loden briefly to trade for some heavier clothes, before heading toward the mountains. He couldn't reach the mountains fast enough. Not only did he hate the environment of the plains, but he was eager to start looking for his parents. He had learned the reason his parents had left him. They were being hunted by humans. Since his adopted family was died, he didn't now what else to do. It had been five years since it had happened, but it still felt like yesterday to him. He could still remember their cries of pain, as he ran the other way, with tears in his eyes. He was sure if he had been stronger he could have saved them. For the last five years he had worked on becoming stronger and he also began looking for his parents.
He had succeed in becoming stronger, although his animal nature now ruled most of his actions. As for finding his parents, he hadn't made much process. It was almost impossible to find people who knew them, and even harder to get them to talk. After all these years he finally learned they were last seen high in the mountains somewhere.
Once he made it to the foot of the mountains, he began to feel like he might actually find them. But he quickly became lost. Even with his great knowledge of the mountains, he was utterly lost. Before he set out on this trip, he read everything he could find about the area. A whole lot of good that did him. As he continued walking he caught a wiff of something. Following the smell, he finally realized what it was, humans. He doesn't really likes being around humans, especially since they are the reason his parents had to leave him, but he needed to stop and rest. Besides, maybe they could tell him where he was.
Following the scent, he finally reaches the town. Well town wasn't really the right word, it was more of a village. There was maybe two dozen buildings and a few more farther away from the village. There were a few people out and about. Slowly entering the village he looks around to see if there is an inn he can stay at. Around the center of the small village was a building with a small sign that said inn. Smiling at his luck ,he opens the door and steps in.

Naida steps through the front doors of the Inn, around a young man who had just entered, and heads straight for the pub, the grin evident on her face. She steps into the room, whistling loudly to get everyone's attention, then somersaults herself onto a table. There are a few shouts and whistles. Her grin widens and she bows slightly at the waist. Finally she clears her throat and speaks to the crowd. "Hello dear friends of highest regard, and dirty old men, you know who you are. I am here to invite you to a momentous occasion! If you are of the artisitic persuasion. Join me for an evening of wine and song, Dancing and merriment to last the night long. By the light of the stars and the warmth of the fire, Let the show bring to the surface your deepest desire. Now, this public oration was more tiring that you'd think. Is there anyone here who'd by me a drink?" Naida grins, throwing her head back with laughter as the room erupts with shouts of "ME!" She allows the men to help her from the table and lead her towards the bar.

The door had barely closed behind him, when it was opened by a brown haired lass who looked to be around his age. She quickly breezes by him and somersaulted on to a near by table. While the men whistled and shouted, she takes a grinning bow and begins to recite a poem in a seductive voice. Grinning himself, he heads toward the bar. Ordering a mug of mead, he watches her performance. He doesn't drink very often but figures he has earned it. By now, the crowd of men were helping her down from the table and offering to buy her a drink. Shaking his head, he has to admit she is good at what she does. Taking a drink of his mead, he feels a pair of eyes on him. Turning to look, he finds a black haired lass who looks his age or a little younger. Cocking his head to the side, he sends her a questioning look.

She gestured for him to join her. Picking up his mug, he goes to join her. He wonders what she could want with him. As he makes his way toward her, he passes by the lass who just finished her performance. Flashing her a quick smile as he passes her, he continues on his way. Reaching the lass's table he sits down with a smile. His animal natural is weary of her, but the leopard is weary of everyone. Giving her a once over, he notices she has bright, beautiful green eyes. Wondering if he should have brought her I drink he asks with a smile,"What can I do for you?"

Naida takes a mug of mead from the hands of a grinning man as he holds it out to her. She takes a long sip of ip, then pushes herself to sit up on the bar. She turns and winks at the barkeep, offering him a smile.
"Well met, Naida. It's been many a moon since you and your troupe have rested yourselves in the shades of our mountains."
"Aye, it has, good fellow," Naida says, turing her attention back to the tavern. The young man she had stepped around smiles at her. She returns his smile with a nod, raising her mug to him before taking a sip.
She watches him as he moves to a table, joining the young woman sitting there. She lets her gaze settle on them for but a moment before looking around the tavern.

Naida raises an eyebrow, turning to look at the man whispering in her ear. She grins, reaching forward to lay a finger on his chest.
"I love to perform. I am a dancer and a bard at heart, and love nothing more that the cheers of a crowd." Naida smiles, tilting her head slightly and leaning in close to him. "I don't know how much of a skill like that can be taught. I think it's more of knowing how to work with a natural talent."
Naida winks at the man, leaning back again and taking another long sip of her mead. She sets the tankard back down on the bar, then holds her hand out to the young man. "Naida Blue, handsome one. And what might you be called?"

Naida throws her head back, laughter pouring from her lips like wine into a goblet. She looks back at Windscar, her eyes twinkling.
"Dear Windscar, I do believe that you are flirting with me," she says with a wink.
Naida drains the last of the mead from her tankard, then places it back down on the bar. The barkeep laughs, shaking his head at her.
